My mom's birthday is May 22. She is a small woman who always gets cold. I'm starting now on her birthday blanket. I'm using this stuff called "fleece lite." it's thick, chunky, funky, and soft. I'm doing it in panels and it has cables. Nico helped pick out the colors and yarn. He's good at stuff like that.

Bonnie's Purse 2.0, Driver's Test
I had to go to the DPS today to get a replacement license and take a motorcycle driver's test for my moped endorsement. I decided to take Bonnie's purse along with me, just to test it out. I had my regular purse and used hers to take yarn and some sticks to play with during the wait. And I was wearing my "Not Devil Hat Anymore."
I actually like Bonnie's Purse and am going to make a new one for me with some changes and improvements. Dare I call it my first design?? I failed my motorcycle test, and I don't want to talk about it. I'm still wearing my "Not a Devil Hat Anymore." I was supposed to see Bonnie today to give her the purse and show her that I am a knitting superstar now, but her husband conveniently had his appendix removed today. Nico is out of town tonight. :( He's in NJ, but he'll be back tomorrow. (I miss you baby and I love you.) Long story short: I'm making myself a fly new purse. If it's as awesome as I think it will be, I will post the pattern.

Not Devil Hat Anymore
My First Hat
This was my first attempt at a hat. I made it for Nico. Not TOO bad. Except... a) it wasn't supposed to roll up like that b) it doesn't stay on his head c) I missed a stitch somewhere up top after i seamed it, so it is starting to unravel. But other than that, not too bad. I'm about to unravel it and do something different. My knitting has improved drastically since this project.
Bonnie's Purse
I've been working on this thing since 3 days after I learned to knit. I think that was 2 weeks ago. I've been a knitting machine since then. I haven't been giving this project much attention because i put it down one time, picked it back up and continued knitting in the wrong direction. Well, I didn't even noticed til WAY later, and didn't feel like going back to fix it. Instead, I continued on knitting, completely hating it the whole time. I have been 2 rows away from finishing for over a week now. Finally, I decided to finish it and seam it up just to see what happened. Actually, it's okay. A little wobbly and deformed shape, but okay. Better than I expected, not as nice as I would liked for it to turn out. Oh well, Merry Xmas Bonnie.
Boybee's hat
I had some drama with this hat. It was originally going to be based off of a pattern I found called "ten cable baby hat." I've never done cables before... and now I think that I may never do them again. I somehow kept unintentionally increasing and decreasing, and had huge holes where the cables would start and end. If i hadn't jacked it up so much, it would have been beautiful... but it was a nightmare trying to continuously go back and fix mistakes.
I finally gave up, pulled it apart, and VOILA! I made a simple baby beanie, with my first ever pom-pom on top. This is for Suzy's baby that we call Boybee, because he's a boy and he's a baby. He's 4 months old.... and he's a baby. That's all I really know about him. But I'm a new knitter and want to find any reason I can to knit things and try new techniques (hence the attempt at the cables).
So I present to you: Boybee's hat.
I used Cashmerino Aran (oh so soft), It took less than one skein. Size 8 16" circular needle and size 7 DPNs.
